Divia has spent her entire life in the harsh reality of India's slums. Despite the societal norms that often dictate the roles of women as solely wives and mothers, Divia dared to dream of financial independence and a future where she could support her family. She is the second eldest of four children, and the weight of her family's aspirations rested heavily on her shoulders.

For years, Divia found solace and support in The Living Bread's partner, CFA Center. This center not only provided her with a hot meal each night but also offered tutoring and invaluable life lessons rooted in faith. As Divia matured, the Strong Families Program developed within her small community, led by the dedicated directors, Goldie and Kennedy

The Strong Families Program, designed by The Living Bread, seeks to empower families to move from surviving to flourishing. Through physical, educational, emotional, and social support, this program equips families with the tools they need to build sustainable and hopeful futures. For Divia, this program opened doors to new possibilities.

A Future Banker in the Making:

Today, Divia is the newest student in The Living Bread's Hope Education Program. Her dream of becoming a banker is taking shape as she attends online classes while living at home with her family. She actively participates in weekly Bible study lessons and virtual English classes, thanks to the unwavering support and guidance of The Living Bread staff, Goldie and Kennedy, and her loving family.

Divia's story is a testament to how investments made by trusted and caring adults can transform lives. She has evolved from a determined dreamer to a full-time student with boundless potential. As she continues her education and pursues her dreams, it is the mentorship and support of these individuals that will light her path forward.
