Suhana's life has been a journey marked by separation and resilience. In her early years, she found solace and support in a The Living Bread campus. As time passed, she transitioned with other boys and girls to The Living Bread Campus. These crucial years laid the foundation for the remarkable individual she is today.

Driven by a thirst for knowledge and an unwavering willingness to learn, Suhana dedicated herself to her studies. She embraced her time at the India Campus, focusing on personal growth and academic excellence. As someone who has been invested in, she began to recognize the profound value of offering help to others around her.

A Return to Family and Community:

Last year, when India's lockdown mandates came into effect, Suhana, like many of her fellow students, returned to her parents in their village. Despite the changes in her daily routine, including diligent studying and maintaining her school schedule, Suhana also encountered something new—poverty-stricken individuals doing their best to stay warm and fed

The Power of Compassion:

In December, Suhana and six other junior college girls returned to The Living Bread's campus for focused study sessions and a small Christmas celebration with staff and caregivers. It was during this time that Suhana approached a staff member with a heartfelt request.

"I would like to use some of my birthday and Christmas money to buy blankets for the poor in my village," she shared. Her desire to give back was met with resounding support from the staff, who recognized the depth of her character and her yearning to be an active member of her community.

Suhana's act of kindness is a testament to the core values of The Living Bread. It reflects our unwavering commitment to nurturing children who are not only interdependent in their communities but also economically sustainable and independent. Her selflessness shines as an example for others to follow.

During the holiday season, staff had the privilege of speaking with Suhana's father while delivering gifts to children and their families. He shared, "It was really an early Christmas gift for me to be able to share what a thoughtful and kind daughter he has."
